She starts and rides , needs work to get back on the road 

Hi we are hoping to have the keys to our new build property next Autumn. The site is currently a plot of land with an architect-led build plan due to start before Xmas 2021. I wanted to get some advice from anyone who might have some, about what sort of essential and nice-to-have considerations we should think about in advance to get the builders to incorporate into the appropriate stages of the build. These might save us time and money in the future if things have to be retro-fitted so best to plan it all beforehand. We are a family of four (kids are adults now!) and  expect to use the property for the most part as an extended holiday home although we will definitely want to get some rental income as well. I'm looking for any tips, from installing lockable wardrobes and cupboards to hidden wall cabling and plenty of power points. If anyone has some practical advice from their own experience I'd be grateful if they can share it! Thanks in advance.

I gained residency in August 2020 and have read on previous post for the year 2020 I would have to pay for the year 2020 non resident tax, then for the year 2021 pay resident tax, I spoke to my tax advisers yesterday and they said that for 2020 non resident tax was correct, but as for 2021 I could carry on paying non resident tax? as long as I kept paying tax on my income in the UK and there was no need to change over to to Spanish tax system? I questioned this and said I was always under the impression that I would be taxed in Spain from 2021 after gaining residency in August 2020, which then for the year 2021 tax would be payable in the first half of 2022? I am again going to meet my Tax advisers near the end of December this year, so any advice/information would be greatly received, as I am concerned they are wrong? Any advice would be great fully received.

Hi, we want to rent in January and February, either in Els Poblets, Denia or Javea.  What is Els Poblets like in the Winter please, as we are concerned it might be a bit too quiet?  We live in the quiet countryside in Suffolk, UK, and want a contrast when in Spain.  Denia and Javea seem to be a bit busier, but there are more appealing rental  houses with gardens in Els Poblets.  

We are 59 and 61 and will be bringing our dog with us.  Current interests: we're both learning to play bridge, and to play the ukulele and melodeon, also trying to learn Spanish.  Also like walking, swimming, cycling and going to the gym.  I've had one knee replacement and am waiting for the other to be done, so the walking and cycling are a bit restricted at the moment.  I love needlecrafts and textile art, but will only be able to bring a limited amount of supplies with me.  My husband loves sailing, but won't be bringing the boat!!
