Qualifications in Spain - 5 replies

Kayleigh98 Posted by Kayleigh98 in General Alicante City discussion on Fri Sep 21, 2018 6:27pm

Hi.

I'm hoping to move to Spain with my family within the next 6 months or so, although we're not sure on location yet.

Once there I hope to get a job as a nanny or in a nursery. I'd like to open my own nursery in the future, however, I'm not sure what qualifications I need and what UK qualifications are recognised in Spain?

If anyone could help in any way, it would be much appreciated?

Thanks.

Tax Residency - 10 replies

mark2050 Posted by mark2050 in Taxes in Alicante City: Suma, NIE and general tax advice on Sun Sep 16, 2018 7:05pm

Hi

I have read that if I spend more than 183 days per year in Spain I would be considered as being tax resident there. However I have also read that if I spend more than 31 days per year in the UK I would be considered Tax resident in the UK.

I was under the impression that I could not be Tax resident in both countries so I was wondering if anyone can advise what would happen if I were to retire and spend for example 8 months in a year on and off in Spain.

Many thanks in advance.

Tax Advisor Required! - 2 replies

Cookie Posted by Cookie in Taxes in Alicante City: Suma, NIE and general tax advice on Fri Sep 14, 2018 1:04pm

I have now resolved my tax situation with the UK, as I am currently working for a UK company, but I am working from home for them in Spain, and therefore am classed as working in Spain for tax purposes, HMRC, have now changed my coding to NT, but I now need to ensure that I pay my taxes correctly here in Spain, and not sure what I now need to do, so I am looking for a tax advisor who can assist me with this please, so if anyone can recommend for me, I would really appreciate!

Non EU spouse and S.L company? - 0 replies

starfox Posted by starfox in General Alicante City discussion on Wed Aug 29, 2018 12:38pm

Hi all,

Wondering if anybody out there knows what it would take for a non EU spouse to start up an S.L business.

As it is for EU citizens it's complicated but, and I'm only thinking aloud here, is that it is likely going to be even more complicated for a non EU citizen. Given that one is already a resident and has the right to live and work here you would assume it would be simple, but I'm guessing it isn't as soon as they see your passport.

Has anybody done this before or have extra information on it?

Up to date Residencia advise - 2 replies

heatwils Posted by heatwils in Residency in Alicante City: padron, residencia and passport advice on Thu Aug 23, 2018 12:04pm

Hi all,

i'm looking for some advice on getting residencia for my 7 year old son. it's a long time since my husband and i got ours so i'm looking for some up to date advice.

I have my appointment booked in Alicante but it isn't until the end of October, that was the earliest! But  I want to be clear on what paperwork I need to take.

My son was born here so we have the libro de familia and his birth record. my husband and I both work here and pay social security.

Can anyone tell me which are the correct documents to download? Is it EX15 or EX18? Its a bit confusing. Also the tax form??? Which one is it? and how much is it? I have seen several different fees which is why I'd like to hear from someone who has done this recently.

Many thanks
