Good morning

We are staying here until 21 January and planning a permanent move to Altea but would like to catch up with a resident over a coffee/wine to discuss, in general, pros and cons (can't see any cons to be honest!) 

It would really helpful to discuss other nearby areas, such as Mascarat, Altea la Vuella and Altea Hills - some "insider" knowledge would be very welcome!

Hello. I have been in Spain since 14th August with a UK plated car and I know I have six months to import it. I have a few questions: 1. (a technical one) it's a Toyota Avensis 2016 and I understand I need to make sure the headlights are to the correct setting. Can this be done manually or do I need to change the units? 

2. I have a 'Padron' but do I need residency as well to import the car?

3. Does anyone know what the correct procedure is to do this? 

4. Also have a UK license, does that need to be converted as well within 6 months and how do I do that? 

Sorry, lot's of questions but maybe somebody can help me with this and would be happy to pay for this service.

Hi, I have just moved to Altea and have some furniture to dispose of. How do I do this ??? TIA

Am having family visit over the xmas holidays (from 20th for about 10 days). Any ideas where I could hire a blow up mattress and pump (double or kingsize?) I'm not being mean but I don't want to buy one if it can be avoided as I don't want to store this when they are gone, and then have to eventually put to landfill.

Can anyone recommend a good savings account with a decent rate (fixed or easy access) for Non Residents where I can keep some excess Euros I have transferred for property expenses and a potential refurbishment at a later date.

The bank I am currently with (Cajamar) only will offer current accounts to Non Residents

At this moment I am staying in Callosa D’en Sarria, in one of the houses of Fundacion Knecht Drenth, until 19th of December. For emigration goals, looking for place to rent, long term. Soon to be retired, I want to be able to sculpt in a cellar or other kind of working facility. One or two bedrooms, bathroom and living area. Preferably near to nature with small garden.

Hi all,

We have taken private healthcare out with Salus here in Spain for over a year now (they were recommend to me) I had recently seen terrible reviews online! I am looking to switch provider because of this! Does anyone have good experience with Salus or does anyone recommend any other insurers? I have read recently that dkv, M fiatc, sanitas and aegon are very good? I was told there is no wait time again on the policy once you prove you've been already covered. Hoping  this is correct.

 We both have just turned 60.
