Hello All
MnM here, we are happy to update that we have paid our booking deposit for our apartment in Petrer and it looks as if we will complete the conveyancing process by the end of August; but as we all know timelines are never set in stone, no matter what jurisdiction we live in!!
We are now turning our attention to other tasks such as tax advice / paying liable taxes when we reside fulltime in the new year, initially as non-residents and then making the move to fulltime residency (we are from the Irish Republic). We have been fortunate with the support of excellent legal representation in Alicante but now we are seeking recommendations for tax advisors in the Alicante region. We know we have seen other members refer to a couple of companies in the Alicante province region, if anyone has time to reply we would appreciate any information you can provide on who you may use to make your tax returns/pay your tax liabilities??

Hi all
Matt and I finally got to visit Petrer and Elda on Friday last, we stayed the night and walked about 28 km over the 2 days - it met all of our expectations and more. On a sour note, based on our personal experiences only - we had the misfortune to stay at the Hotel Santa Ana...arguably the worst accommodation experienced we have ever had...ever; just sharing in case anyone was considering staying there.
We are another step closer to purchasing our home in Petrer.
Keep you posted.

Took out the above policy in November 2020. Unfortunately had an accident at home, went to doctors, had to pay for an MRI scan which may now need a operation. I understand grace periods but will my policy cover me as it was an accident?
Has anyone managed to claim under these circumstances?
Thanks

Dear Forum
I read an article on the Covid-19 Vaccination programme here in Spain and it confirmed that all Citizens,Residents and Aliens will be offered the vaccination as a basic right, whether you are on the National Health programme or have private health care.
You will , however, have to register at your local Health Centre so I am asking if anybody has been to a centre in Petrer recently and can advise me of where it is and would a translator be required to make the initial registration. Thanks in advanced.

Hi All
We have read many times from subscribers to this forum the importance of learning Spanish for so many valid reasons, we would like to share information about synerfyspanish.com (Synergy Spanish), it is a great online Spanish language learning site. While there is a cost, it is not too expensive, around €80 for all the links, online video classes and resource books; it is a once off fee and the information is your forever!! We have tried so many different ways to learn the language and picked up a bit alone the way, but we have learned so much, in such an easy way that makes this the best we have ever experienced. Well worth trying out.
Hope this is of help to others.

Hi all;
Its been a while since we posted here, but Covid-19 has a way of making for very little points of conversation anywhere in the world now!. Anyway, we have been keeping ourselves busy at home in Ireland with our plans to move to Petrer in 2021. Although we are prevented from travelling to Spain at present we are progressing with the other elements concerned with moving country. We recall previous posts from other members concerning engaging an Abogado and recommendations' for a lady named Sheila Gomez, does anyone know of this Abogado and if any of you have used her legal services? We are also endeavoring to obtain our NIE number via the Spanish Embassy in Dublin, fingers crossed it will prove fruitful. We would appreciate any recommendations / advice you could offer in obtaining an Abogado in this general area.
Thanking you in advance
