Regarding, Insurance agents.es, one office of which is in the small commercial centre in Torre de la Horadada, have stopped using Liberty and now changed to Zurich. However, there seem to be problems with cancelling Liberty policies, if you do want to change companies. Jenny Cunningham has taken over the Liberty clients who want to stay with Liberty. 

I am not putting the blame on any of the two sides but it needs to be sorted. I know we are not the only ones.

I would like to wish Alex and family a very Happy New Year and thank him for administering this forum. I have found it to be very helpful when it comes to topics such as taxation for non residents etc. 

I thought the UK was bureaucratic but Spain takes the biscuit and the advice ( which no doubt has been learnt by bitter experience) some of you old hands give on the forum, is invaluable.

Has anyone any information regarding extending the 90 day limit for U.K. home owners? as reported in some U.K newspapers.I also see that many Spanish people are moving to Portugal as their tax system favours them.I have looked into the Portugal D.7 Visa and it does not ask people to have half a million euros to get one,Also this visa allows free movement to all E,U countries. Unfortunately we are looking at this as an alternative to Spain.

         In my first post, I am trying to register my motorcycle in Spain and have trouble translating one of the forms for the DGT.

I have just received a nice Christmas present from DGT. It was delivered today by post to my home in the UK.

It was a speeding fine of 300€ for doing 125km/h in a 90km/h limit on the A-70P Km 27.3. on the 9th November this year, Which I think is somewhere near Alicante. I was driving my UK registered Ford Transit van.

The letter states that if I pay within 20 days of receiving the letter the fine is reduced by 50%. Is the amount of the fine correct? I am rather peeved as I did my best to observe the limits having driven from Bilbao to Pilar de la Horadada and back.

Has anyone else been fined for speeding in this region?
