Seems there may have been a cockup on many TIE cards.

On the bottom on the front they are saying:

Tarjeta de residencia de familiar de un ciudadano de la Unión.

which is not correct if not a family member but an entitled person in your own right.

The British embassy are looking into it and there is a FB page where they are asking people with cards bearing the error to report it.

Trust Spanish bureaucracy to get it wrong.

Both our cards collected last week bear that text.

You may be right, the 4 options on the EX-23 form are

□ INITIAL RESIDENCE (no previous registration certificate or TIE)

□ RESIDENCE WITH UNION CITIZEN REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE

□ TEMPORARY RESIDENCE WITH FAMILY CARD OF UK NATIONAL

□ PERMANENT RESIDENCE WITH FAMILY CARD OF UK NATIONAL

So for those exchanging 2 would be the appropriate choice but if 3 or 4 had been ticked......

TBH they do not seem as clear as they might have been.

Spoken with my Gestor and the form was filled in correctly so it has to be Alicante at fault.

It's being taken up with them.

Hi thanks for the heads up, I just checked ours and they are also wrong!

Checked your Facebook link and there has been a new post added today, it says it’s an admin mistake and not what people ticked. 🙈
