I don't know, as that's the sort of thing I get Margaret to bring back with her when she goes to Scotland. It might be worth sending City Electrical Factors at Torrevieja an email and asking them. I know that when they first opened up, they stocked UK twin & earth cable, so might have other items.

Thanks Jim, I'll try e-mailing them, otherwise they will be added to my daughter's shopping list for June.

Cheryl, these 6 amp ceiling pull switches are often of inferior qualityi, and prone to early failure due to the pull cord being pulled at an angle when in use. If you are replacing one I would recommend obtaining one from the tried and tested brand of either MK or Crabtree .

Thanks Les, any idea where I can get hold of them here or would it be better to order from UK and get family to bring them over? I'm in the Campo with no deliveries.

Hiya Cheryl,

The company CEF, who Jim supplied the link to, are a long established Electrical suppliers in the UK and in the UK would definitely supply MK brand and possibly Crabtree brand too.  I presume they may be able to supply the same to Spanish customers on demand, however the best bet as you suggest, may be to have family bring the switch over if the job can wait until such time as they are due to visit.

Easiest bet for non Trade supply in UK would be the likes of B&Q, Screwfix, or Toolstation.

Hope that helps.

LeckyLes.

Hi Cheryl

I’m a soon to be retired sparky coming over May 11th , if that’s not to long to wait I’d gladly bring over a nice Crabtree switch ( quieter than MK ) .

Regards

Richard.

I was interested in the replies, and when I saw the reference to MK or Crabtree, I agreed completely, with the mental proviso that Crabtree are quieter and an easier pull than MK. Then I saw Richard's reply!

Thank you Richard, that´s so kind. I'll have a look for Crabtree online to get delivery to my daughter in UK and hubby can rig up surface mounted wall switches until she comes over in early June. They are for brand new en-suites which are bare walls at the moment with the suspended ceilings just going in so he's got plenty to keep himself busy with whilst I design, source and supervise!
If I have any problems, I will get back to you if your kind offer still stands.

Just a thought Cheryl , there are pir sensors available that mount flush in the ceiling  , as you said there is a suspended ceiling.
