Well if that's the case Penny you should be fine. Perhaps also take a copy of the UK house completion statement from your solicitor (maybe what you're referring to). I would expect that when they see the documents they'd let you through ok. However, if it was me I would definitely speak to the Co...

Sensible advice. Talk to the Consulate or Spanish Embassy, plead for their help.

I’ve emailed our solicitor in Spain and asked his advice. I’ll also phone the Spanish consulate here for clarity. Again thanks everyone who replied

Quite possibly, at least by the letter of the Law. But this is quite an unusual circumstance unless Penny and her husband have relatives in the UK that they could stay with. Which raises the question Penny,  where are you staying now? You might have to remain there until restrictions are eased.

We have to leave this house on 31st March as a tenant is moving in the following day. We have friends we can stay with but wouldn’t want to impose long term. If necessary we’d have to rent somewhere till we can go to Spain. Just hate all the uncer

See 2d

I'm not saying they'll get in or not, just saying they might. Also it lists the restrictions only until 12.00hrs 26.03, although like you I do expect it to be extended. But in these circumstances, via the UK Consulate, they might be able to get a Temporary Permission to access their main residence.

Have read boarders closing tonight. Only Spanish and residents allowed in. I would suggest you check out the situation on offical Spanish site for definitive information.

Suggest checking out Citizen's Advice.

Thanks. Do you have the weblink?

Going on the Portsmouth to bilbao ferry. Have booked a hotel near Madrid as a stopover but will just drive down without a stop if necessary

We will drive through France. How will you make sure they let you enter Spain?

I don't have proof that I'm a resident in Spain, since I'm only moving end of next week...

And how does one prove they don't have a residence in their home country?
