Might be a good idea to put these guides on the home page as "read only." Too many people asking the same questions over and over again. Jim Taylor and others must be fed up answering the same old questions.

Yes this is a good idea. We'll be hopefully making these more prominent to all visitors soon.
Also if anyone else would like to write a guide on any topic that they see being asked a lot then please feel free to and let let me know and I can publicise these too.
