You don’t hate the lying  cheating clowns who are hypocritical and incompetent, well if that’s not hate I don’t know what is it certainly is not a term of endearment,

Give us a clue then who would you put in charge of running the country.

I don’t think I mentioned you personally when I said some people make up things.

I think your emotive language is extreme and unhelpful - please don´t try to apply your definition of "hate" to my standards.  I can´t think of anyone now, or indeed ever in my life, who I´ve ´hated´.  As I said, BoJo and his clowns are lying, cheating, hypocritical incompetents - proof of which is in the public domain.

Interesting that you admire New Zealand leaders who have prevented covid spreading by locking the borders and not allowing anyone in or out, but then you think the UK government are acting like N. Korea for putting controls on returning travellers. I would say a bit of double standards there.

Spot on Aitch,, don’t know where this fella is coming from.

No double standards at all.

There’s a big difference between an islands nation (NZ) spotting the risk and Locking down immediately to prevent the virus running rife to another islands nation (UK) procrastinating, dithering , weighing up cost of business versus deaths but not only doing this once but continuously....

...

I said right at the beginning I’m not against lockdowns what I am against is closing the stable door after the horse had already bolted.
The difference between NZ and UK is that our leadership’s ineptitude led to needless deaths and suffering for thousands of families due to a weak populist PM with an already bad track record for flipping and lying. Boris is just not a crisis leader. Fortunately we have a brilliant NHS and brilliant researchers , but that’s not down to him.

The difference between the Uk and New Zealand is about 65 million people so there is no comparison with how the pandemic was dealt with.

My emotive language is extreme for quoting something you’ve said. If you don’t like my reply don’t put abusive language on in the first place.I don’t apply my definition of hate to anyone but what you wrote I found offensive and hateful.

It’s not about number of people, location or shopping routes ! It’s about a government locking down when they see a risk , not 3 weeks later or 5 weeks later !  Whether that’s UK or NZ doesn’t matter, everyone could see what the Delta virus would do, everyone except Boris that is. Or...

... did he know? But it just didn’t suit his hidden agenda?  What other explanation could there be, maybe he’s not stupid after all. Maybe he’s very clever man who plays the markets, craftily disguising his decisions but simultaneously tipping off Rees-Mogg to buy buy buy or sell sell sell.
Really, if Russia decided to invade tomorrow - it would all be over in days while Boris ummed and ahhhed and blustered around No.10.

He’s an embarrassment and he’s not just placed us all at needless imminent risk, he’s then failed to risk review proportionally and instead held the country to ransom. He’s a liar and a sociopath, not too disimilar to Trump. Both dangerous in their own ways, both have legions of followers wearing rose coloured specs, for whom to admit they mihbe wrong in their blind loyalty would be the ultimate blasphemy. I believe a certain Austrian born painter and decorator captured the same adulation in his rise to power.

It appears the world never learns from its mistakes by looking at history.

The nonsense is getting worse you obviously don’t like the Uk so as it is still a free country you can leave maybe you could test your  freedom in North Korea..

Last week there was a table published off causes of deaths

1 heart attacks 2 breast cancer 3 lung cancer  good old covid was 24th.    No matter what the good old left wing expats think , those of us in Britain put up a bloody good fight against it , we wasn't all set at home being paid , in the first days some off us were grafting away in the hospitals , factorys and shops providing what was needed , some off us are still proud to be British.

Couldn’t have put it better God save the Queen.

I used to be proud to be English. I’m still to a point proud to be Northern,

I’ve never seen myself as British and I was proud as punch of being European , I’m still European in my outlook and my overview of the world.

Britain and I apologise to the Scots, Welsh and most of the Irish peoples in all this is led by a very parochial and protectionist English government who have succeeded in completely dividing the country into tribes old and new. The most Dis-United Kingdom in 200 years!

But, it’s a tactic ‘divide and rule’, used by many regimes down the centuries. Find the ogre, blame it for all the ills in the nation then set the pitchfork and blazing torches rabble off to destroy it. It’s quite sad watching a nation tearing itself apart whilst the orchestrators profit from the chaos.

But, all empires rise and fall, this is the pitiful death throes of ours.

I mean what sabré rattling fool thought they could take on the Russians in the Black Sea? It’s that pathetic pretence that we still have clout that will risk lives unnecessarily. But it won’t be Williamson’s sons, Boris’s numerous daughters or Rees-Moggs precious fruit putting their lives on the line. It will be some poor kid from Blyth, Carlisle or Thornaby!

The really big selling point of the European Union was that it was the third major power in the world, a broker on the world stage that for the first time in  75 years kept a peace on mainland Europe.

No, the war mongerers won’t have that, let’s pick a fight with Russia. Let’s pee on the Good Friday agreement and risk bloodshed in Ireland again. In fact let’s not honour any treaties, including climate change, our kids won’t mind as we import millions from Australia and the Pacific Basin.

So no I’m not proud. I’m ashamed of a country that’s allowed itself to be taken over by the far right on the illusion of “Let’s make Britain - Great again”  it’s very , very sad! I find myself apologising to my French and Spanish friends who think as a nation we’ve lost our collective minds.

The area of England I’m from once accounted for 29% of UKs GDP. It built bridges that are on every continent, now that was something to be proud of.

unfortunately it was sold out and forgotten, now we’re offered pathetic scraps for votes from the ‘levelling up” table. What absolute farce!

So What I will guarantee is that if we don’t get what has been promised, the cry for self-determination won’t just end at the Scottish, Welsh and Irish borders.

Then you should move to your precious Europe if you dislike your country, but I suppose you have a good job which will prevent this.

There´s nothing "abusive" about my use of "lying, cheating, hypocritical incompetents" - as I said, the evidence is in the public domain.  Try reading it.

Hi Kim

Why are you wasting your energies with this?

You should know better than most that some people just want to argue. Note I say argue, not debate.

I swear, they just trawl through threads, looking for an opinion/s that differs to their own, then start with the less than helpful remarks, often when the topic has almost “blown itself out”

Their replies appear to become incoherent, such is their determination to respond to each and every post they “disagree” with.

I don’t necessarily agree with every post on this thread, but at least most posters have taken the time and trouble to explain their rationale, rather than than just denigrate what others have said 🤪🥂
