Can a cyclist please tell me why they almost always flout the rules of the road.

Are they above the law and don't have to stop at crossings or red lights etc?

Several times I've had to move quickly on a pedestrian crossing because bicycles are obviously going to fast to be able to stop.......

A poor chap on a mobility scooter was nearly in a collision with a cyclist on a crossing only missed by inches!!

because it is very unlikely that anything will happen to them.

I have never seen, except on tv a bicylist be given a ticket for a road violation

With regard to cyclists, it’s definitely not just Spain. They get away with it irrespective of where they are.

Oh yea…. All motorists are bad, I’ve seen them drive carelessly, jump lights and cut people up; all motorists are bad.

😂🤣😂

I would imagine more cyclists are impacted / hurt by motorists than the other way around

99% of motorists stop at pedestrian crossings and traffic lights.....100% of cyclists don't  !!!

Of course more cyclists are injured than motorists if there is an accident, that is pure mechanics! They will be, but that is more reason they should be more careful. Additionally, the OP was referring to cyclists and their lack of consideration regarding others at  crossings, traffic lights and so on, Fact, so on your bike !

I think, like motorists, we all know that cyclists fall into differing categories…. Sensible and ‘not’ sensible.

Sorry tebo53 I have to disagree with you on this but it is not all cyclists who break the rules. I am a cyclist and a driver and one of the sensible ones, I abide by the rules of the road. Motorists and cyclists who don’t abide by the rules of the road are just as bad as each other.
