...a and knows the educational attainment is poor . I work in the criminal justice system in the area and I’ve seen the results of successive governments failures and what many will do to survive. Do you honestly believe that a generation with few or no educational qualifications has the insight to make informed decisions on economics, funding, climate, imports/exports, taxation, education, health, demographics, infrastructure etc ? The majority are only interested when Wetherspoons are open and if they can order a Greggs from Just Eat. I’m not really criticising the locals I’m merely outlining the situation as it is and I can take you to any coastal town in the country and show you the same. Yarmouth, Blackpool, Hastings, Margate, Jaywick Nr. Clacton , dozens of forgotten towns and not all in red wall areas either.
You have a very elitist attitude. If the poor, ill-educated people can easily be bought with a few promises how come they did not vote for Corbyn at the last general election, when he and Mcdonnell were promising them the earth? You say your post is not really criticising local people, I would hate to see what you would write if you were being critical.
