You have a very elitist attitude. If the poor, ill-educated people can easily be bought with a few promises how come they did not vote for Corbyn at the last general election, when he and Mcdonnell were promising them the earth? You say your post is not really criticising  local people, I would hate to see what you would write if you were being critical.

Morning  Aitch it's now evident that depending on the area of UK you live in is what you vote .If you're a Labour supporter Wales is the place for you ,Conservative is England and SNP.is Scotland and I dont see that changing anytime soon, which I think will mean the breakup of UK in the not t...

...oo distant future ,its always been the case that England decides the UK government and this is all too clear now ,I think people in Wales and Scotland  will be disillusioned with a Tory government they did not select .On the subject of Boris  Johnson  ,he is an out and out liar ,and is only interested in himself ,I think the cabinet of a party tells you much about its leader,il give.you 3 examples of inept clueless politicians  but there are many more. Matt PPE disaster Hancock  ,G avin Frank Spencer Williamson ,and Therese Not a clue Coffey ,these wereselected by Johnson certainly not on ability maybe he saw in them something  of himself  .Now I wont.believe that a.Sly divisive liar like Johnson didnt know the wage structure he was going into when he went for leader of Tory party and PM position and then complains that £155000 is not enough to afford childcare ,I suggest he does what thousands of people have to do and juggle 2 parent working with childcare

Hello John,

I think your right about the split along country lines, it's to have been heading that way since devolution. I am not enamoured with some of the UK gov. cabinet but maybe not to the same extent as yourself.

I did not realise that the announcements of travel yesterday were for England only, you'll have to wait to see what Scotland decides, probably after the election results. We may have to travel to Scotland to fly to Spain (assuming Spain let us in)............

You are tongue in cheek again Aitch ,Nicola Sturgeon has no interest or plan to open up the aviation industry  ,in fact it has been said that people in Scotland may have to go back in time ,if they wish to travel abroad they may have to do that from English airports .I wont be waiting on her to give me permission to travel ,I have plans afoot and they dont include her

Good luck with your plans. Getting out of the UK (England) should be possible, just make sure that you can get into Spain.

I agree Because Labour were making promises to people who don’t vote, don’t care and have little economic strength. As I’ve stated before if Primark is open, they can get a cheap end of shelf life pint at Wetherspoons and order a pasty from Just Eat that’s all that matters to them. When their kids who are reaching school leaving age are scared to use a bus because they can’t read a timetable we’ve got problems. It’s not being elitist it’s bring a realist. I don’t think you appreciate how much this country is dumbed down. That includes the PM and politicians from all sides. The PM left to his own devices would have Gad bodies piling up in the streets. Thank the stars many of our scientists and research chemists are still here and haven’t joined the brain drain like many others. I agree Scotland will get independence, followed by Wales and then a United Ireland.
Then little Englanders will turn on each other from each part of the country. We’ll see how levelling up - plays out then.

What a terrible elitist attitude you have. It appears the former shadow secretary was right. Left wing social media warriors like yourself are exactly why, i and thousands like me have turned our back on the modern Labour party. As someone who was brought up in a home in the lowest 1% socio economic area of the UK, myself and all of my peers went onto have successful careers. You have nothing to offer but attempting to denigrate a population because they see how to move our Country forwards differently than you.

Finally onto the weather, lol.

Safe ground - it's been lovely here over the last few days. April was a huge disappointment, worse than the UK, but mother nature as redeemed herself.

No - you and yours are not moving the country forward at all ! Your inverted parochial snobbery and neo - nationalism is moving the county further to the right. From being a country that was proud and could be looked up to as an example for the rest of the world for how to run a democracy , have a justice system and defended civil rights it is descending to becoming a pariah state off the coast of Europe. A state in the throes of post - imperial decay and destroying itself from without and within. Very few have the insight to see it. The ones that do will get out while they can.

I was born and brought up on Teesside, grandson of steelworker who fought in Ww1 and saw his brothers killed. He’d be ashamed at every Norherner who put a x against a party that had its roots in a class system that sent millions to their graves through pig ignorance. An ignorance that lives and breathes through the political elite of the north London controllers of the Labour Party and the monied and privileged classes of the Tories. The Red wall has been dismantled and been rebuilt with fire hazard blue cladding.
