You didn’t whether you’re getting your Pay as you go Internet on a dongle, or on your phone or via a company that’s supplying Broadband where you’re paying for the months you’re there. I think what you might mean is the data limit they have on it. If it’s unlimited then TV is easy to stream and no need for anything else. If you buy a Smart TV it’ll need decent BB of about 5mgb upwards to avoid buffering. if you have this you can download a decent VPN onto the TV and load all the UK TV Apps on it. You can download all these onto your mobile as well and send to smart the TV once they’re on the same WiFi. if you’ve already got a TV that’s isn’t Smart then you can buy a Chromecast from any TV shop for about €40 and just plug it into the older TV and stream to that.

It's very simple.

If you want to pay nothing, want a bit of TV, not BBC - Spanish, but can get the odd film & series in English audio (as well as Spanish) TDT - old TV antenna on roof, no other costs, modern TV's have tuners.

Satellite for free to air TV - 1.4 minimum as others suggested, though as you state, not ideal for a rental property - unless you will be there for a while and landlord ok with it?

Lastly - IPTV, which needs unlimited internet. No point going into much detail with this, if issues with unlimited internet.

Based on the above - would seem the Spanish TDT may be the way forward for you - as if you want BBC, only options are dish or IPTV.

If you are in a block of flats or community type property, you will need to make sure there is somewhere to put the dish. Faces 28 degrees east. https://www.dishpointer.com/  if you put in your location and the satellite (28 deg east) from the menu, you can see which direction relative to your property. If the last smaller dish is German than 13 and/or possibly 19 degrees east (Hotbird).

If in an apartment block, as long as there is roof access, usually can pull cable between floors, but need to make sure access is available.

Bit left field but if you just want something to watch and your broadband speed will support it, the Amazon Fire TV stick works here in Spain? Not too expensive, plugs into an HDMI slot on the TV and connects via WiFi. Good selection of films and TV programs, many free to view if you're an Anazon Prime member.

Hi. Firestick no longer needs a VPN connection as it's no longer IP region restricted. However if you have a VPN link then the tvplayer app on the firestick will access UK terrestrial channels. Might be subscription based, you'll need to check.

What if you are having a problem finding a suitable place for the dish to go. Our cant go on the roof as a large cactus is obstructing the signal, so we have it in our rear garden. The top half can be seen by our next door neighbours and they want it moved - but we have nowhere to move it to - and do we have to. What are the regulations around siting your dish. It is 1.4 meters.
