We used Quiron and they were brilliant 98 euros for the test and we received print outs of the results in Spanish and English. Got through customs no problem. However, we used 001doctor for the day 2 and day 8 tests and they are terrible. Day 2 test kit arrived on day 6 and day 8 test kit on day ...

...11. It was 10 days before we received our results from our 'day 2' test i.e. 5 days after our 10 day quarantine had ended. We were only able to end our quarantine at day 10 because of the advice via the track and trace team that call you daily. Via their advice we received a test kit from the NHS on day 8 and the results on day 9.

Hope you have a better experience than we did. Booking the vaccine is fantastic via NHS Covid Vaccine online booking system

Have a safe journey

Sue

The whole system is an absolute joke. What's the point in any tests if you have to quarantine for 10 days. If any, why not the day 5 release test only. Day 2 is totally pointless. No point in any if you don't get the results back anyway and then the NHS test which apparently you cant use is what you get if yours don't turn up...

Pointless waste of money.

The tests are to monitor if, where and what tpye of COVID is entering the country.  Quarantine is to stop the spread

Ok. Why 3 tests. You tested negative before flying. Why can you not use day 8 early because if that's negative you can come out of quarantine and then you technically dont need the day 8 test. That is of course if the tests turn up, because there appear to be a lot that dont. Also if they dont arrive you ring the NHS helpline and they send you a test. No doubt the free ones that you are entitled to as a British Citizen paid for with your N I payments.

But if we have a test before flying and are negative then tests shouldn't be required for day 2 and 8 !!!

Completely agree !! Just a money making scam. As a British citizen you are allowed 2 free tests per week. Paid for by your National Insurance contributions. Technically by day 8 you could have had 3 free tests. 2 in days 1-7 (1 week) and 1 on day 8 (2nd week) with the possibility of another by the end of your 10 day quarantine.

I think we all know what we are told the tests are for, after all they are not going to openly admit its to raise revenue for the UK coffers or to discourage travel abroad, again to keep money in the UK to cover the total B***s up with the economy, wasted money on PPE etc etc.

It doesn't alter the fact you are sent a free test from the NHS if your 'paid for' test doesn't arrive. It doesn't alter the fact you test negative before flying, otherwise you can't fly...if negative on 'another paid for' test on day 5 you can cut short quarantine. However people are reporting the day 5 result arrives on or around day 9 (if at all)..If that's the case, why not just have a day 5 test. If that comes back negative you don't need to quarantine any further, if positive carry on with the quarantine and that will also, as you put it' tell what variant of COVID has entered the Country.

Also if you are quarantining, how is it you can go out to post your test back from the designated post boxes in the middle of the town that you are protecting by quarantining 🤷‍♂️.

Hi. Re the fit to fly test (returning to UK) at La Regia. I need to get a test on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Is that sufficient time to book? Tia

This centre has now closed down.

Farmacia in El Raso takes a mouth swab, but to be honest if you are looking for a test for next week, you might just have to take what you can get. Apart from the walk ins everywhere else is really busy.
