Has anyone used the Dam health office in Orihuela-Costa (La Regia) for pcr test for travel purposes? We're hoping to save ourselves a trip to Quiron, but wondering if Dam documentation was acceptable at the airport and in Ireland, thanks.

Depends what route you take back. If you fly or ferry from Spain then you only need the antigen test or similar. If you drive through France, they were insisting on the PCR roughly 120 euros.

Hi Trisha
Whilst antigen test is accepted for entry into UK you need full PCR test for Ireland (nearly got caught on this one myself!)

Hope this helps

Unfortunately , you will have to pay for a 2 and 8 day Covid test after the fit to fly which costs 175 euros, I came back to the UK yesterday evening and now I have received the package to start the procedure (Day 1 starts today so I will send my 1st package off tomorrow).
It is a diabolical liberty when you have to pay all this even though I am still a UK citizen ,when anyone actually here now can go and get a Covid test for free.
Keep all receipts as I think this going to be taken to parliament at some time to get revoked ...just my personal opinion.

Even “well off people” don’t want to pay massive amounts for having a covid test or the post arrival tests! Nobody in their right mind will pay this just to have a holiday.
It’s not going to change either as a friend of ours in running 4 test labs in England and doing the covid tests too. I told him that this will only last for a couple of months or so but what I didn’t realise is the volume of people coming into England from Asia and Africa. This will be continuing for a long time to come. My niece and her husband moved back from Dubai recently and had to quarantine in a hotel close to London Airport Apart from themselves, everyone else were Jamaican and from various countries in Africa.
Like everyone else, it is hoped that the travel industry will put pressure on the government to reduce the cost of the tests for holiday makers going to Spain or elsewhere for their annual holiday but this is only a hope.Quite simply, there won’t be vast numbers of people travelling abroad if they are obliged to fork out £500 to £600 on tests/quarantine tests. Even if you can afford it, it’s highly unlikely that you will pay this and have to quarantine on return as well. I for one have resigned myself to staying in the U.K. this summer, we’re not even permitted to go to the Rep of Ireland at the moment and as their vaccination programme is so far behind us I don’t see any change imminently.
Wherever you are , enjoy life

Hi there,
If you are returning to the rebuplic of Ireland you need the more expensive PCR test done, they should have prices on their Web site or phone.

We used Quiron and they were brilliant 98 euros for the test and we received print outs of the results in Spanish and English. Got through customs no problem. However, we used 001doctor for the day 2 and day 8 tests and they are terrible. Day 2 test kit arrived on day 6 and day 8 test kit on day 11. It was 10 days before we received our results from our 'day 2' test i.e. 5 days after our 10 day quarantine had ended. We were only able to end our quarantine at day 10 because of the advice via the track and trace team that call you daily. Via their advice we received a test kit from the NHS on day 8 and the results on day 9.
Hope you have a better experience than we did. Booking the vaccine is fantastic via NHS Covid Vaccine online booking system
Have a safe journey

Did you only need a antigen test for to come to uk. I thought it had to be a pcr. I'm coming to Spain next month and trying to sort out a test to come back to UK. Thanks
