This centre has now closed down.

Farmacia in El Raso takes a mouth swab, but to be honest if you are looking for a test for next week, you might just have to take what you can get. Apart from the walk ins everywhere else is really busy.

Lynn

Hi Lynn,

So you mean Dam health is closed forever?

The test centre is  Orihuela Costa has been closed for sometime now and it’s no longer listed on their  website as being available for bookings. They apparently had a fire?/ electrical problem? / flood? which just seemed to affect their part of the building and it never reopened after that.

All the other Dam Health Centres seem to be operating normally so you can still book tests with them. They also operate a home test appointment, which is obviously  much more expensive.

Depends which country you are travelling to as to which test your require.

If I presume that you are flying to the U.K. then a PCR test is recommended, but they will accept an antigen test.

It was sort of common knowledge that the antigen test taken  in Cabo Roig clinic was a spit test, because so many people had posted it on here. But as I say with that clinic being closed, I’ve no Idea how the tests are performed in the other Dam Health Centres or in the home visits

But if you’ve got the website details why don’t you email or phone to ask.

Pop the answer on here it will be useful information for others, remembering to say which clinic you’ve contacted.

I had the spit test in benidorm from dam-health. It reported me positive 2hrs later but then dam sent me a message in the evening saying I was negative with no explanation, even now 6wks later.

Hi Trisha

Whilst antigen test is accepted for entry into UK you need full PCR test for Ireland (nearly got caught on this one myself!)

😁👏🏼

There is no official terminology as a spit test, that is just a term of describing how you take the test as opposed to a swab or a nasal swab.

The main types of test available are PCR tests and Antigen tests, although you may be able to find LAMP or TMA  tests

You need to have the test or tests specified by the country you are travelling to.

You might not require any tests if you have a Covid certificate.

Every country is different

You mentioned some about travelling to Belgium, is Spain still on Belgium’s red list, which could mean further travel restrictions.
