Fake News?
A recent report in the Daily Mail about Brits arriving at Alicante Airport from Manchester being sent back refers to the persons in question having received by post a letter from the Spanish Authorities that they could pick up their TIE. In my experience at the time of your TIE application you are told you can pick it up in 6-8 weeks. I have never heard of the Spanish Authorities sending out letters and certainly not to the UK.
Should people choose to travel on the basis of a British Official saying "It should be alright with a stamped application form from the Spanish Authorities" it is their responsibility and is not recommendable.
Most normal Brits knew BEXIT was coming at the start of 2020 but chose to ignore it in true Brit manner „it won’t affect me “.
The more enlightened Brits applied for their TIE as early as possible, especially those who travel to the UK regularly.
I do my share of bitching about the Spanish system but feel the Daily Mail is Spain bashing once again.
For me the bottom line is, if you don’t like and learn to accept the Spanish laws and regulations then go back to the UK. Spain is not little Britain by the sea.
