Good evening,

Does anyone know the name of this plant. We have just got back to our apartment after five months away and so my plant looks very sorry for itself.  The ends of most leaves look dead and should I cut these off.

Grateful for any advice.

If I'd been without water for five months, I think I'd be feeling sorry for myself!

I may be wrong, but I think it's Aloe Vera. The fronds are normally a lot fatter because of the gel they contain, but I'd guess it's been surviving on that gel and the fronds have shrunk as a result.

Give it a bit of water and talk nicely to it.

Many thanks Jim for your reply.  Taken your advice and plant looks happier already.

To me it looks like a Fire Aloa, however to find out put 1 drop of gel gel on on nay not too sensitive part of your skin.

Thank you Killjoy for your reply.  The leaves are thin so there is no gel inside.  The tips of each leave are quite sharp, although a bit shrivelled at the ends.
