Hi.

After living here for 8 years,we have tried everything

This year we are opting for night storage heaters,in fact the company are calling tomorrow.

According to the size of the heater, they start at 500€ to 900€.

This price includes fitting,delivery,and vat.

Not bad at all.

Have only had good reports about them.

Hi there

Can you share the name of the company which will call your place tomorrow

We might also give this a try we have a two story villa which like everyone else here in Costa Blanca also suffering from thin walls and cold cold inside

We have a gas heater which is more than adequate for winter. A gas bottle lasts about 3 months and costs about €20.

There are many electrical heaters available from carrefour that kept us warm whichever room we were in whilst at Punta Prima. No central heating however no problem as you place it nearish to you and you may need also a blanket over your knees.

Saw us through last winter with no problems in a 3 bed/ 2 bath quad. A thick duvet means no heating is required in the bedroom. No issues so enjoy 😉

Buy rugs for your property. I have big rugs in our lounge, smaller rugs in the hallways, rugs beside all the beds. Slippers. Wall heaters in bathrooms. Aircon units in every room. A couple of oil filled radiators for cold periods I’m installing one in the hall when we next visit. We have a 4kw ...

...inset gas fire with attached air blower. Wonderful. No dampness at all. I hate being cold. You could keep a couple of wool rugs to cover up with should you feel cold. I tend to turn the aircon units on at about 5pm. I leave them on if we go out shopping and return home to a wonderful cosy room. If you don’t turn it on until later, the room is COLD so difficult to really heat up.

Just remember, to heat a home in Ireland or the U.K. costs a lot. It will never cost you anything like that in Spain. It’s generally warm all day unlike home. Don’t  be cold. If you can’t afford to keep the heating on constantly, wrap up in layers. Wear warm socks and even a scarf. Stay warm. None of us can afford to be cold. Our health is vital.

We are having a Night Storage Heater installed next week.

Only heard good things about them.

Thanks for the info.

We live here,so need something that we know will work for us.

Thank you, giving Night Storage Heaters a go.

Got sick of carting the fire about.

We used a gas bottle every 3 weeks.

Just sellin on here our 11 month old fire, used for 3 months.

Hopefully I will be able to advertise on here?

Didn't come to live in Spain to have to put a blanket over your legs?

Appreciate your advice though.

Hello. This will be my first winter in Spain. At the moment our only means of heating would be the air conditioning system. I'm guessing this could work out very expensive. Does anyone have tips for a cheaper way to heat our apartment? A single heater, strategically placed, I'm sure could heat th...

We had a night storage fitted a couple of months ago.

They said we needed the largest one.

We are not finding it warm, manufacturer recommends 21 degrees.Wasnt warm enough, turned it up to 23 deg,and we are still cold?

Our room temperature tonight is only 21 degrees, which isn't warm enough?

As this heater was expensive,we aren't very happy at this time?

Thank you for the update on your night storage heaters, useful information for others

What sort of costs are you finding to heat your property to 23 degrees? I'm assuming that you are using the cheap night electricity tariff to power your storage heaters during the evening. What happens to the heat not used after you needed it? Does it just dissipate during the day? Thanks again.

TBH 23 degrees is higher than we expect from our air con, we usually set it for 20 degrees to take away the chill. I've just checked the thermometer in the lounge and it's showing 19.5 degrees and 44% humidity, which is OK for us.
