Hi, I usually come to Calpe from uk every couple of months , most of the time hiring is very cheap. Ive just been offered a lhd citroen on brit plates-the cost of  registering looks too £££. If i drove it back to the uk after 179 days, can i legally bring it back to start another 180 days...

... a month later, please ?

Hi,  if you are a UK resident surely you can't stay the 179 days in first place as you only have 90 days maximum for each visit and then you can't come back until you have been out of Spain for a further 90 days. So you couldn't bring the car back a month later as you have said.

Regards

Pauline

Yes, that'll be fine, as long as the vehicle is "street legal" while in Spain and you abide by the 90/180 day rule (if you are a British passport holder).

You'll need the original V5 in your name with you, when driving.

The car will need to be taxed & insured for use in Spain.

p.s In future it may be better to start a new thread as this thread is over 2 years old and information may be out of date

Sure, but you asked if "I" could take it back to UK after 179 days and can "I" bring it back a month later? Hence my reply. It can come back but not you if a UK resident.

I think that the OP is going to drive his car over for the initial visit and then fly back and forth every couple of months until day 179 when he will drive back to the UK. He hasn't said that he will be staying 179 days, just his car.
