Sorry, we dont live in Denia but in a small village some 20 km inland. Google maps fine but a large scale Michelin enables ypu to lay it out flat and see the area as a whole

True, but Google.maps enable you to "fly over" above using standard view and terrain view. They also offer street view.

Using google maps if someone is in their pool at the time of the mapping you will see them. It's that clear.

I know Big Brother is constantly watching us but that is taking it to extremes, LOL.

Of course and i understand that perfectly well, its just that sometimes a large scale ‘dead tree’ product enables one to get an idea of places in relation to one another and perhaps to orient oneself a little more easily to begin with.

The Montgo mountain and national park separate Denia and Javea. The Denia side faces approximately north. The Javea side faces approximately south. It's a very beautiful area and to some extent prices reflect that. Renting or living here you need a car or some other form of transport.

Hi Maggie, if you are going to miss working with children you could always volunteer in a school which would help you learn Spanish quicker!  I worked in a school and thought I'd really miss it, but there are lots of other things to fill my time.  I love being in Spain and probably talk to my grown-up children more now than when we lived together!  I'm sure you will love the Spanish life; the people here are very friendly and welcoming.
