Don’t believe everything the MSM are telling you about food shortages. Many of the pics are from empty shelves at the end of the day. My wife works at Asda and there are no shortages. Also, the governments around the world have spent billions on adverts in the media to remind you about covid! P...

...eople are encouraged to get tested, even with no sign of illness! Imagine pre-2020 going to your GP and asking he or she tests you for something that you have no symptoms of?! I think people need to take a step back.

So are you saying theres no empty shelves ,what I saw on itv news was stage managed ,I think the point is that because of the nhs app continually contacting people who have supposedly been in contact with someone having covid ,I heard the figure of 1 million in the last week and needing to quarantine, there is a shortage of staff at supermarkets  ,drivers who bring foodstuffs to stores ,that's the reason for empty shelves .Now I would believe anything of this government, they have been putting out statements for past 18 months knowing that they were lies ,but I cant see anything to be gained by government showing empty shelves ,I would be delighted if someone can enlighten me

Think it's called normality ,we were promised normality and no.going back on 21 June ,now 4 weeks on still no normality ,constant debate on covid ,big thing at moment is empty shelves in supermarkets due to people having been pinged and needing to self isolate ,shortage of drivers to deliver to s...

...tores and shortage of supermarket staff ,I thought last year was bad ,but its being g surpassed by this year ,god for I'd what next year brings

My sister in law works for a supermarket in Hereford. Due to this track n trace pinging , there were a total of 3 staff in her store for the evening/ night shift. Poor girl ended up working 6pm until 11am the next day. Store looks like it’s going to have to close as there’s not enough staff and people panic buying.  She has young kids to deal with as well.

Dreadful situation

Sorry  to hear about your sister's situation, as if peoples job situations ,wer'nt bad enough  ,I dont think people realise the terrible conditions people work under ,low wages ,no rights ,but some on here were doubting the empty shelves shown in UK supermarkets, your post confirms problems regarding  quarantine due to NHS app

Hi John,

well I still have not found any empty supermarkets in Linc's. I'm in Clapham this weekend, my daughter here got her shopping as normal. I'm sure there are places with problems but, in my opinion, media exaggeration. Speaking of exaggeration, the figure of more than a million pings you heard, accordingly to the BBC and the Independent the figure was 618 thousand, still high but some way under the million mark.

Aitch.

Meanwhile here in the UK, where nearly all Covid restrictions were removed on Monday, at least 80% of shop customers and staff are still wearing masks when they are no longer mandatory, no doubt fuelled by the daily updates in the media about this and that variant.  It's amazing what people ...

...will do when they have been made to feel constantly afraid.

Every person has the choice whether to wear a mask or not, and your comment of  “It's amazing what people will do when they have been made to feel constantly afraid” - what a joke!

The death of thousands/millions across the world is enough to make people afraid, I have lost loved ones to this terrible virus, it’s obviously still there and many people are still wearing masks because they want to have some sort of protection.

My view, and many others, is that freedom day has come too early, I would have preferred if it was left until everybody has had their 2 vaccinations, or had the opportunity, now we have a mix of single and and non jabbed (particularly youngsters) still able spread the virus, so good on anybody who wants to continue wearing masks when they feel the need to so so

I think that's the key ,choice  ,if someone wants to continue wearing a mask ,they should and someone who doesn't, like me should not be made to feel that they are selfish You mention freedom day ,isn't quite what was supposed to be ,still restrictions in place especially with travel ,people still being robbed due to tests for travel ,now hearing that people may not be allowed into football grounds unless double vaccinated, some normality. you couldn't make it up ,guided by the science

Better safe than sorry. I hate wearing a mask but until till this is over it is wise and respectful for those who have not yet had the vaccination.

Or have family members that died. And they are still afraid...insane!
