Some welcome news for many from Spain:

Just need the UK to reciprocate now 🤔

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kim my,

Yes it is good news for us holiday home owners. However, at present any trip to Spain will result in 2 weeks self isolation on return to the UK. Hopefully that will be lifted before too long.

But better safe than sorry, we are a few weeks behind Spain in spike, so we'll get there.

Hi Socym,

Yea, great news for retirees, but as I said in my original post, UK citizens generally need the UK's 14 day quarantine on return to the UK to be lifted.

Kind regards,

Kim

The Spanish police are advising where necessary. Not automatic fines. This is Spain not England.

Spain must be mad , taking people from Britain that  does no track and trace, extremely limited testing and still high incidence of coronavirus, of people tested ie those who have to go to hospital mostly for unrelated illnesses 80% have the infection without showing any signs what so ever. The population show no concern and the vast amount ignore all the rules and wear no masks etc. Don't let Britain kill Spain

Quite agree, I have spoken to quite a few Expats here who view with extreme trepidation the prospect of the return of Brits under the present circumstances that seem to exist in the UK. Just from the news reports of the Mass protests ref BLM, and now there are various reports of so called mass raves ( latest in Bristol ) that the Police cannot or will not control, and we see the total lack of respect for anyy rules and regulations ref Covid 19. Also the total lack of appreciation of the heroic efforts and sacrifice of Health and Public Sector workers during the pandemic. Its no wonder that many Brits here do not yet want their compatriots back. The only ones allowed back should be those with properties here....no-on else.

I agree as well. We are told that the majority voted for brexit so why holiday in Europe if you hate Europe, European values and the EU ? Go to Egypt or Turkey and take your chances there instead of abusing Spain and it's hospitality. The Spanish are creative enough to replace Brit tourists some of whom (benidorm evidence during lockdown) behave like unruly uncivilised animals ! They want there sovereignty and there borders so stay in Cornwall or go east and leave Europe alone because we don't need the UK. You have lost your empire and are a laughing stock in this new world. There are new champions now and new kingdoms being built and your little island will be left far far behind as you battle for trade deals with Mali and Pakistan and Nigeria and maybe the USA, Australia and Canada will throw you a few scraps off the table perhaps? You no longer rule the waves anymore you island of grocer's. It's a pity you failed to cease the day when you had every and ample opportunity to do so. Carpe Diem 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😆

The barest majority it would have been a hung parliament if this had been a general election! They won but please don't think we're all as petty minded and insecure as these awful people, as far as I'm concerned if you voted brexit you should be blocked by our European friends. Your goverment is however making these people feel good, see they say, they need us even when we're disease ridden. Please Spain look after yourselves you deserve better

The problema is the morons and the cretins want the cake and the cherry and the cream as if they are entitled to it - for what reason now?  The manufacturing industry is shattered, agriculture will be shattered, fisheries contribute nothing to GDP, so they rely on the service industry ! Army, navy air force desimated - no more gun boat diplomacy anymore I am afraid. Government overrun by greedy, incompetent , chancers looking to bleed the dying trough. UK plc you will be bankrupt because you sold out your local citizens 😪

What a totally inaccurate account of the UK response to C19 and British behaviour in lockdown here(now in week 13!).Sorry but you believe all you read in the media. The majority of us have complied with lockdown, wear masks and gloves when shopping for essentials etc.Devon has had to be lowest level of infection, deaths anywhere. We love Spain and Spanish people so the last thing we want to do is infect them, ourselves, anybody. We need to get back to our house we have owned for 16 years but want to travel safely and comply will all the rules. Both the UK and Spain need each other, both economies are in their knees! Oh we are track and tracing in huge numbers and testing many more people than Spain and in fact any other country. I also believe our death figured are at the most honest in the world as and we count ALL settings, does Spain?Anyway you take care all will be ok.
