That's a shocking idea - lowering and raising the dog, by a lead attached solely to its neck - is tantamount to animal cruelty, do that a few times a day and watch your dog's neck get damaged - some people are just plain stupid.

Quite right. Just an idea Link is full of fools. I do hope most of the human race have enough sensible to deserve in order to survive.

You do realise that if the dog was wearing a harness it would not have been pulled up by the neck. Pretty obvious to me.

Why justify someones stupidity. It is not clever or good for the animal.

They've now pulled the video, so assuming people complained.

It was actually pulled from the other resource link posted up.

I've watched that video on a 22" screen and if you think that dog is not on a normal lead, you are wrong. It is really quite obvious, just by the position of the lead on the dog's neck and the way it is being pulled. Perhaps you are looking on a small screen or your eyesight is not great.

Leaving this thread now, as getting bored arguing with an objectionable idiot. Following - unticked. RayD, always arguing with people....

Has anyone seen any official guidance about taking dogs to the vet?

Specifically,

1) Can they be walked there (500m)?

2) Are vaccinations considered an essential reason?

Hi Paul and Joyce,

I believe vaccinations would be regarded essential.  Our Eddie's due his Leish' booster in May and one of us will be taking him.  I think you'd get away with a 500m walk, so long as it's only one of you and you have your dog's vaccination card with you.  I'd also advise pre-booking an appointment - our own vet is insisting on this.

Kind regards,

Kim

Thanks very much for the reply, Kim.

Yes, I have pre-booked and will be taking papers with me. I feel a bit more confident having read your post. I should have asked the vet, of course, but when I rang today they had already closed.

ATB,

Paul.

Brilliant! Could only see my dog coming back with an empty bag though!
