Where can I invest some money
Hi there, I have some funds from a house sale in the UK but as I no longer live there I need to invest it in Spain. Could someone please advise me?
Thank you

If you invest money in Spain 🇪🇸 make sure you also get a Will drawn up , if you pass on your next of kin may be waiting a few years to obtain funds.
Have you a NIE number and registered address in your name, you will need to make a Tax return with your non Resident tax, that is if you are a non Resident,
I would also seek Professional independent financial advice,

Hi Lynpatt,
Chris, our regulated IFA (Chorus Financial) and myself (Thy Will Be Done) would be able to provide you with free, impartial advice with no obligation, on the investment and the Will.
We have a seminar on just these subjects a week on Wednesday (6th March) at our offices in Benijofar (with lunch provided by Hamiltons) - why not come along and have a chat with us afterwards?
11.30 a.m. for coffee and seminar 12 -1 with open forum questions for half an hour after.
We only have a handful of spaces left now out of the original 40 allocated, so give us a call soon on 865 756 058 to reserve yours.
We look forward to speaking with you then.
Kind regards
Paul

Hi Lynnpat
Firstly, are you asking about investment, or do you mean savings attracting interest?
Either way, why do you feel you have to do it "in Spain"?
I have been resident in Spain for 12 years but I have a significant chunk of money invested as GBP via my account with Wise.com. I could have chosen to invest it as euros as well, but returns are currently higher from GBP. Wise use Black Rock to manage the funds. Wise also pay interest on money in their regular account, but note that Wise is not a bank and therefore there is no €80k guarantee on your money.
Wherever you invest the money, probably the first thing to decide is whether you want to convert it to euros or not.
btw - I am most definitely NOT a financial expert.
Hope I've given you something to think about.
Cheers
Steve

From my experience and research ( and through a neighbour , now retired, but who has been a professional financial advisor here for forty years), there do not seem to be any interest bearing accounts in the way we understand them in UK. There are investment accounts, for which the advice is usually not to use them if you may need access to the money in less than five years. We left our money, such as it is! In UK and should we need any, have some in an instant access interest bearing account. Transfer as needed.
We didn’t bother when my mother’s house sold to pay for her Residencia fees, as the costs investing for a year were not worthwhile. From speaking to her bank, the option was serious investment, or nothing.
Please note, this is only our personal experience and we claim no financial expertise!
