Morning all

So now that restrictions in France and Spain seem to have been lifted, am I correct in saying we can now travel from the UK to France by Eurotunnel and stay overnight in a hotel in France, before continuing our drive to the Costa Blanca? And without compulsory quarantine in France or Spain? Has anyone done this recently, is there something I haven't considered in this?

Would be really grateful for any comments or advice.

Thank you x

I'm looking forward to replies myself on this one. I wonder what the availability is on the tunnel?

We've just booked eurotunnel and hotels all seem to be open in france. Brittany ferries are now sailing too but on a revised schedule.

Hi Loulou

We are leaving on the 4th July from the North East staying in Ashford overnight then catching the shuttle early on the 5th July and staying just North of Pau in France arriving early evening in Villamartin on the 6th July.

I have had this booked for a couple of weeks hoping that restrictions would be lifted and all looks ok fingers crosseed no spikes occur anywhere.

Regards

Andrew

Just be cautious going back. border force are alive to those who are just transiting France to avoid self isolation on return

Just to update, we made the journey and are now safely in alicante. We were only asked to show our passports once, at Folkestone, on the British side. We didn't have to show our Covid declaration letter. Fantastic journey on the French  and spanish motorways. Now to sort out residency!

Hi Loulou

Thanks for sharing this information and glad the journey went well.

How long did it take you from where you went from in the UK?

We caught a 07.30 eurotunnel from folkestone. Arrived calais 08.00 (09.00 french time) and straight out and on the motorway. Drove to Narbonne in south France and arrived 8pm. Next day left Narbonne 09.30 and arrived Alicante at 5pm. We've never driven to Spain before but the motorways are fantastic and almost empty!
