It is used to calculate property taxes = IBI, visit or contact your local SUMA office re payment and setting up a Yearly Direct Debit with your Bank.

Check out

Hi - as Peter says - via SUMA...log on to your account or get one - very useful for car and other taxes such as rubbish etc.

If you print it it off then then most ATMs have a scanner here in Spain for the bar code so you can pay it and also set up a DD (Sabadell at least).

Hope this helps.

BTW if you have land in addition to the villa, there may be a 2nd bill...not usually v much i.e. 40 euro. All showing on the SUMA portal.

SUMA do not promise to show 'paid' within 50 or so days on their portal, but you will be able to receive a receipt from the ATM and of course have your bank statement as proof.

Best wishes,

D

Hi

You’ll need the VC to submit your 210 forms

Hi Ann and welcome to the forum,

Have you only recently bought your property?  Whoever owns the property on the 1st January of the year would be liable to pay this year's IBI (Spain's equivalent of Council Tax).  The purchaser's lawyer would usually retain an amount to pay it when it becomes due - IBI is usually payable during the first week of October in this region, but has been delayed until the beginning of November this year:

The lawyer's service for the purchaser should also include arranging for a direct debit to be set up in your name for future bills.  If you bought this year, it would be worth double-checking with your lawyer whether they have already made the necessary arrangements.

Kind regards,

Kim

Good point Kim - I'd forgotten that re the 1st Jan and lawyer's set up. Ours did, or at least reminded us that say the rubbish tax was due.

Our Sabadell lady locally walked us though the payment and DD process at the ATM as it didn't recognise the bar code so had to enter the 3 codes manually.

There are other ways to pay of course from the portal but I like to see what is happening.

Best wishes as always,

D

Hi Ann,

I'm surprised that SUMA wouldn't have chased your sooner.  Do you have a bill?  If not, it would be best to call them to resolve it - their contact details are at the website I gave you.

Also, are you aware of Non-resident's tax that has to be paid annually?  You have to submit the Modelo 210 tax form before the end of December each year.  This can be done by email, using this company:

https://spanishtaxforms.co.uk/

If you're unaware of these taxes, you must have received poor legal support when you bought your property.  I hope you're able to get it sorted as soon as possible.

Kind regards,

Kim
