Thank you Beverley,

Do they speak English?

Have you had big increase in your bills?

Just note that what you want to do is different to what the OP did, and you should really have started a new topic rather than posting to an old one.

A change of tariff is just a change of how electricity consumed is charged, and doesn't affect the standing charge or incur any costs. I'd guess now that the bill the OP originally referred to was the final bill on the old tariff, but without seeing a scan of it I can't be sure.

What you want to do is increase the contracted power limit, which does incur costs.

They did speak English. No increase in bills. We have the cheap tariff for  night time.

Hi all,

I’m very sorry about getting everything mixed up. Sorry also if it had upset anyone or caused any upset.

I don't think you got anything mixed up. It was all related to my original post. We had the same issue as you with the electricity going off. Hopefully you get it sorted out.

It cost me 250 euro to have it upgraded professionally however what I wasn’t told is that the standard charge goes up from about 10 euro a month to about 30 euro so can cost a lot over the year I’m with iberdrola

Hope this helps

Thanks for that information and I wasnt told that either. Our house is empty at the moment and electricity switched off. I just checked just now and my bill was 23 euros for December and 30 euros  for January. I was 109 euros for upgrade.

I upgraded in June 2018. After upgrade, I looked back and the standing charge was far less than now far standing charge.
