I loved San Francisco and went to college in LA in late seventies. I am still settling in here buying pits and pieces I dumped before I left Ireland.

Was very lucky to find a modern Apartment on first floor with lift and no one below me except the hallway and garage.

Marble floors everywhere and triple glazed and hot and cold Air/Con.

Wooden park with 3 lakes 30 meters away and beach i can see 2 blocks down.

Park is brilliant for my little man chasing squirrels.

Was to the vet with him yesterday and was surprised by what i was charged for the consultation +Antibiotics €18.50 at home a consult fee is €45 +the antibiotics possibly €55-65 a visit paid 380€ before I left for his passport .

All in all i like it here and my house is up for sale at home i was rattling around a 4 bed detached.just to big for me and Mutt ya that's his name..

So far so good found a one bed apartment on first floor with lift fairly new marble floors everywhere stairs is marble. triple glazed windows Hot/Cold Air/Con 65sq meters.With a terrace .Great for drying clothes.

My little man a miniature Jack Russell is having a ball chasing Squirrels up the trees.

Wood with Squirrels, Pee cocks ducks ,chickens turquoises parquets and hundreds of squirrels. 3 lakes and its only 30 meters away i can see the beach from terrace. Lidl, Aldi Mercandaro are all whiten 10 min by car.

There is a great sell all store 5 min walk away.needles to saucepans..

Hi Brian,  small World..  I spent high school, college, and adult years in L.A.  my folks had a home on Mt. Washington. So, I'm really familiar with the LA basin and it's suburbs too.  Also met my late husband there. I've been here in Torrevieja almost 2 years. Bought a corner lot townhouse within walking distance of the shore. Spent alot on renovations and repairs but finally done with the Major portion of the project. Made a couple of kind neighborhood  friends so I don't feel so alone anymore. I think your place is Just north of Torre.  If you are aimiable perhaps we can meet somewhere close to us both. Hi All i will be returning on the 4th September and have had a request from back home.

My brothers daughter is getting married and have been asked to supply the booze as a wedding present..

Being Irish and part of the 27 nations of EU i can buy various wines and spirits but where outside of supermarkets can i buy from are there wholesale places that sell. would be nice to know where.

My allowances are 10 LITERS SPIRITS 20 LITERS SHERRY OR PORT 90 LITERS WINE..

This wedding present will cost me a small fortune.In all fairness brother said he would go half's with me was sweating for awhile.

You could try Distrivinos Levante - it's a wine wholesaler, but they also sell to the general public.  It's on the trading estate on the road that runs from Nancy's nughtclub on the N332 up to San Fulgencio:

Poligono Industrial Los Moras,

Calle Isla de Menorca Nº2 Nave 1, 

03177 San Fulgencio, Alicante

They're open from 10am to 2pm, Monday to Saturday.

Will visit soon as when I can find address in google Maps all variations fail me at present.
 My aide-de-camp goes everywhere with me ,yes ,He is after all my buddy my friend my confident my exercise fanatic . That is not even the half of it , he is a hunting dog surrounded by targets everywhere . He has to be kept in check how much he whinnies when he misses one so close tail hair from the squirrel still in-beaded in his teeth.
Some of you will believe and some not and I'm in some not brigade a squirrel came up to my dog today and spat in this face,That's what it sounded like and mutt was pawing his face for a second before leaping forward pulling the lead from my hand and open space the squirrel made a mistake .he is bounding across an open area .Squirrel made a leap over a seating area and Mutt up on the seat leaped at least 1.2 meters over and grabbed the squirrels tail.all he got was a mouth full of fur.He has now resorted to pooping as far up a tree backwards as possible and his poop is soft now so it clings well to the bark.His poop was always solid before. I Think we have a war off spitting going on now..Its fun and pain to hear his frustration with his high pitched whine he has an under-bite so can not bark , people stopping to watch this little terrier whine looking upwards at his nemesis.
How sad is that.

V I worked in San Fran for awhile before returning home I had an upset in San fran in 1981 , after returning home I married my childhood sweetheart we knew each other since primary school and had two kids both thankfully very successful living the dream.

There is a lot to be said about sending kids to college making that sacrifice financially..It was never easy.

My daughter is in Brisbane My son in Berlin in Germany both are now very well off better that I ever was. So that's a result. I HAVE THREE GRAND CHILDREN . Yes caps I'm so so happy because the twins my son and polish wife had near did not survive. .

Life is cruiel it is how we face these chanalleges that matter.

That’s not a wood? It’s Reina Sofia Park, dogs must be kept on a lead, unless your are talking about  your little doggie running wild the gated dog park inside the park. 

You’ll love that park in the summer, lots of late night concerts in the auditorium, all for free. As well as the fairground and night market open every night in the summer months. It’s a hub of activity.
