Hi Helen, just read your post re difficulty and expense of obtaining non lucrative visa. I have been researching same for a number of months now but still facing problems.some of the companies l have spoke to were  quating silly financial numbers, and none of the quates were anywhere consistent or compatible with each other. It would assist me if you would kindly p.m me with details of your expected total costs.,and if you are happy with the company, who you are dealing with.Any form of dealing  remotely with a Spanish based company, would not be beneficial to me, due to my lack of IT skills.Furthermore, Iam in my late seventies, and obviously  cautious of any potential financial scams Thanks in anticipation of a reply.

Hi Brian. I am sorry to say my entire experience has beenvery bad so far . I took on this lady from Tenerife who was a translator and said she had done many visas. She probided ne with a list i had to work through. I am not good at IT and had help from my cousin . There were many questions and she was a very anxious lady and unable to answer our questions. She kept saying my cousin who is a teacher and I  were getting confused lol . After giving her £200 she said after 2 weeks she couldnt help me as i asked too many questions . She put me on to another translator who wanted to just do a one off talk and charge me £150 er no. Then was told re two other ladies who didnt even know i had to go to manchester . They were gone immediately. Then this lady who was alsoa translator said she hadn’t done many but she sounded keen . She was three weeks between messages and did really know . Was waiting for reply as the DRB called Acro only lasts 3 months and as she messed about had to pay solicitor £500 to check was alrightmy folder for Consulate . She didnt have to do much as was nearly done . Visa forns in Spanish and she charged additional £100 for her to fill in and i just coly . Initially was all in the £500 package . She actual refused to check folder the day before as she wouldn’t do anything until sent £100 over. Got voice memo with her screaming at me and several abusive messages . This is from a solicitor.if don’t get visa going to put a complaint in as she got several things wrong . Fortunately the lovely lady at consulate helped the situation and rectified the mistakes . This is my experience so far. Sorry for long message but to be fore warned . I have spent maybe £2000 so far on forms and the like you have to send off for. Yours should much easier being Irish . Was hoping for that but my great grandmother was Irish  and too far back 😞good luck but cant suggest anyone only share my experience

I drive for now.But parking is a problem.

At present my car is parked directly outside my app .

With the price of gas coming down I'm taking more trips now

I like walking and can access my favourite places with my Mutt. He likes walking also

Next year I entend to explore more and with free train travel for over 60s my plans are Velincia. Barcelona and Madrid.Getting the right accomodation with Mutt will be chanelgining. But he's now 11 or 77 years old and still chasing Squerells. Miniature jack Russel dark brown and white all the girls love him he is very affectionate.

Been lucky with dogs over the years.

Have meet many people in the past 9 months here.

Learned many places to visit and explore. I love it here

Could not find a place more relaxing and comfortable to live ,at home I wa rattling around a 4 bed detached 🏠 just me and Mutt.

House is sold now so soon I have to make that decision again buy or rent.

Auctioneers told me to wait 6-12months in Spain to buy as things are going down

Talk again soon and hopefully can make a trip to Torrivijo over Xmas

Could you please share your source for free train travel for over 60’s?

I’ve not heard of any such scheme running for that age group.

The only scheme I’ve heard of is the scheme available for multi use/commuters.

I would also like to know about this free travel scheme and if most people on this forum feel that the property market is coming down?  I see some homes coming down in price but since we are still waiting on our Visa and not living there, I am curious about the housing market.

Can’t see any evidence of house prices going down at the moment. In fact it’s quite the opposite.

Lots of new builds going up everywhere and by law most of the properties on a complex have to be sold before they can build.

Most re sales sell within days of going on the market.

More and more Scandinavians,. Belgians and Dutch buying in the area.

Perhaps the talk of recession, would then make prices drop?
