I am only too happy to put you in the picture. At least now you know. I hope others in the same situation read this also. We have, indeed, been abandoned to our own devices by our Government. Not at all surprising.
I am looking at ways to get home and have had four flights cancelled but there are flights from Barcelona to London at around £300 and via Brussels at about the same price I would go for one of these but my wife is worried we will be stranded half way so we have decided to stay until we can get a direct flight from Alicante to the U.K.
I do feel it is my responsibility to get home as long as there is available flights if Spain does like Peru and India and close the airspace then I would expect help from the Government but I chose to come here I chose to stay and wait for the cheap flight I had booked home and I am not in any danger as the local Pharmacy is filling my U.K. prescription. If I want to go home I can but it will cost me 10 times what it would normally cost.
