Hi there

Absolutely not!! We are non residents who own a car (rather than rent) in Spain. Perfectly legal to drive on a U.K. licence. At this time, if you become resident, you’ll need to take a Spanish driving test 🤪🥂

Hi Linda

From a different viewpoint...... the cost of a decent secondhand car and a new one is sometimes very little. We chose new as I felt it offered both better value and improved confidence. Accepting even new cars can have problems, my Spanish is not good enough to be summoning help for a breakdown ...

Hi Guys!

I work. In the motor industry in the UK.

I spent a a great deal of time looking into the new or used debate.

I found the nearly new market is supplied by ex rental cars.

I think you’re better off buying a new budget brand vehicle where you know how it’s been driven and the vehicle has not had any accident damage.

If you look on the roads the budget brands dominated. Dacia, Kia and Hyundai are very good value for money.

i bought a bmw x5 secondhand privately in madrid(i live in benissa), before i paid, we went to an office in madrid and changed the registration into my name, the office issued me a temporary registration certificate and told me the green certificate would be with me by post and would take 4-6 weeks, i had to pay a fee of about 250 euros.any private seller won't let you take there car while its in there name as they would be responsible for fines, points and car tax, and in spain there is no arguing about paying they just take it.
