We are in the process of applying for residency but not complete yet. We are returning to our home in La Marina on Feb 5th

and intend to stay until the second week in July for this visit. Is that allowed? The 90 day rule etc is quite confusing!

If you're applying for residencia then the 90 day rule is of no consequence, its those who are just visiting who should obey the 90 and 180 day rules.

I presume you know that all applications are being handled in Alicante now, and it's said by next day appointments, so once you if you have your documents in order it should be a very quick process.

Our understanding is that the 90 day rule will not come into play until after the transition period which lasts until 31.12.2020 . Other arrangements may be agreed during the transition period ?

The 90 day rule has been in force since 2011, but can't be enforced because the length of stay of EU citizens isn't monitored.

Travelling to the airport in a Guardia Civil van. I'm hot. The handcuffs are chafing on my wrists. My mouth is dry. They abuse me constantly and laugh at my attempts to communicate in Spanish. I'm hungry. They throw me on the tarmac and say go home English. The final insult is when they tell me I'm flying Ryanair.

Nothing to do with Brexit really, just another week in my life......
