Going by your topic title, I assume you want to get rid of a wasps nest. If so, just give it a good dosing with fly spray.

Buy a wasp spray from the supermarket, they kill them in seconds. Fly spray barely works on flies these days, that will just make them angry.

I disagree - I've killed two nests and occupants today, as part of my weekly wasp patrol.

Jet's OK if it's not in reach. Spray is a lot cheaper if it's near to hand. A match is probably cheaper still, but there's more risk attached to it.

Before I had my workshop roof redone, I was once on a ladder using a jet on a nest. One of the wasps saw the jet coming, took off before it reached the nest, and got me on the back of the hand. It was one of the long-legged barstewards and the swelling took a week to to go down.

Huh! It's alright for some. Margaret's away in Scotland, enjoying (?) the cool temperatures and drizzle, and being got out of bed at 6.00 am to go to a horse show, while I'm at home trying to do some of the jobs I've got lined up so she'll be impressed when she comes back. It's a fair trade-off - she goes away and gives me some peace and quiet, and I do enough to make her think I've been really busy whilst she's been away.

Thread drift? So what.
