Soon to spend my first spell in my new home in La Marina. Already walking around in Google Earth VR. Looking at the overhead view, I see its a much quicker route from my house in the South-Eastern corner of the Urb to Lidl's and the main bus stop if I walk across land rather than following the roads.

This land looks as if it is laid out in squares with paths in between, what are the rules and customs regarding public crossing land that looks like it might be farmland?

Is it the done thing or should one only keep to roads and scrubland?

This is the short cut I envisage. And if anybody has a large gents mountain bike for sale, I also enquire if cycling is allowed?

If it is not your land then I don't see why you would think you can use it.

Here in the UK there are various acts such as The Countryside and Rights of Way act, this is why I thought that I might be able to use it which is the reason I am checking here first not knowing if Spain has similar Ramblers rights or not. Looking at the map, the route I wished to take doesn't look green as does the land the other side of the canal which is obvious farmland, so I don't even know if this land might just be wasteland, was hoping a local would know.

Hi, Not knowing the definitive answer, but most land is owned. (used or not). There are certain rights of access for hunters. Most other land ( as a walker´s short-cut) is normally accepted to use, with avoiding obvious due respect of orchards, crops, privacy to residents & gardens etc. Without knowing your area, one will soon see if locals are used (& and obvious track). I have used my area for many many years in the country passing many farmers who have given a friendly wave. I have never had a problem, but, you never know. Not much help. Villas

I have done it a few times without problem but don't know if its legal. Looks well used and didn't see any keep out signs which I would have obeyed
