Hello, I’m moving to the urbanization in La marina in mid October,

I’m 18 and moving with my parents until I settle down and find a job.

Is it difficult to find work? (preferably in the urbanization). I speak English and enough Spanish to get by, I also got good results in my high school classes and passed all of my A Levels and have some work experience. Any advice or help would be greatly appre

Hi Chloe

La Marina is a lovely place but I think you might find it difficult to get work especially as it's now coming out of the season.

If you can speak Spanish this definitely broadens your horizons.

Have you done any research with looking for companies in some of the larger cities?

I don't want to appear negative but that's the story in Spain.

I hope your quest works out.

Good luck to you and your parents.

I echo the previous posters comments with the exception of "La Marina is a lovely place"

It's a matter of personal opinion of course but for certain it's not somewhere I'd voluntarily choose to live.

Each to their own though and certainly judging by the sheer size of the place one has to conclude that it holds some sort of appeal to those who have chosen to make it their home but what that might I'm afraid escapes me. A genuine Little England in the Sun with an English supermarket (Iceland) just down the road perhaps ?

I suppose for an 18 year old it may have the advantage of their being plenty of people of a similar age group to mix with so hopefully your Spanish will improve in leaps and bounds and enhance your chances of finding work.

I wish you the best of luck anyway.
