So the total loss of water of around 700m3 occured over 68 days, which would make it around 10m3 per day. It would be difficult to notice, especially 30cm deep and leaking from 2 separate points.

Have you contacted your insurance? Some insurers cover losses due to leaks.

Hi

Yes I have informed my insurance company as our policy covers for leaks

However even 10m3 per day is 10000 Ltrs try adding that amount every day to a small Surrounding and see how soggy the ground will become but in our case there was no such soggy ground so where did this water go?

But thx for correcting my calculation you are right it was 10m3 per day not 100 as I thought

We are going to see the water company tomorrow with the copy of the repair report as they required this report before reconsidering the bill please see a photo of the area where leak was detected as you can see there is no water on the surface

Cheers

You have my sympathy, the stones and gravel, like paving, would make it more difficult to detect the leaks. That stands in your favour when claiming on your insurance, definitely not negligent behaviour.

Good luck with your claim. It would be helpful if you could report back and let us know how your insurance deal with this, along with details of the company.

...

Pete

The water company after many meetings and discussions in their San Fulgencio office have agreed to send a revised bill in 3 weeks time so we await to see what this revised bill is going to be

My insurance company agent has indicated that once we get the revised bill send a copy along with one year previous water bills and they will respond with claim payment

So we are just at the start of all these processes

I will update you when all if final

Cheers
