Does anyone know where I can buy a road map of france other than online?. I would prefer to buy local if I can. I need to plot a journey to the Uk and I wouldnt mind if it was 2nd hand as long as its in reasonable condition and is large enough to scribble on. thanks

If you want to plan a route I would recommend using ViaMichelin https://www.viamichelin.com, and chek it with google maps

Break your journey down into sections to compare cost of Toll/ No tolls

Then use a proper satnav that is big enough to see I use a 7" one from the Garmin Drive™ Series and put detail in so as you can easily put in your route, takes all the stress out of driving.

Thanks I already have a route planned I just wanted to plot it onto paper. It's a back up really so we can plan stops on the way given any traffic hold ups. I cant print Google maps with enough detail on an A4 sheet to pick out road numbers etc. Thanks for both replies looks like I may have to resort to online (w h Smith would have been handy to walk into) as I have never seen any for sale in Spain.

When I didn't have a Satnav,

I used to for complicated bits like round Paris at night have a route by copying and pasting into word, and it listed the changes of route.

Try

https://www.theaa.com/route-planner

and then print the output, you can cut most of the route info out as not really relevant.

My mistake the first time was not to put an 'End' on the instructions, so when we were the other side of Paris the instruction just ran out, so we had to pull up at a services to understand where we were, then on road south to Spain.

Hope this does what you need in addition to your existing planning.

With the correct Satnav it reroutes me and give me choices of which route, and alway have my phone as a back up, but very hard to see.

I have a paper map used for driving through France last November.

PM me your address and I will drop it off (on the way to Torrevieja) tomorrow.
