Hi

Does anyone have experience of visiting doctor at the La Romana health centre, ie can you get by with a little spanish?

Do they understand some English or do you need a translator for appointments with doctor.

we have first appointments this week and want to try without a translator.

Most health centres ask that you use a translator if you are not fluent in Spanish.   Although I can get by day to day with my limited Spanish I usually take a translator with me when having to see my doctor.

Golandrina,

We lived in Torrevieja for over 6 years and never once needed a translator at the doctors .admittedly the doctors understood some english and we managed to make ourselves understood with our limited Spanish,

I would like to hear from someone who has had experience in the La Romana Centre, but thank you for your opinion.
