Registering at the doctors
I want to register with the doctor at the La Romana Health Centre. Where do I register?
Do I need an appointment?
Thanks
If you are not resident then you cannot register with a doctor at a public health center.
If you are resident, and entitled to a SIP card, then you will normally be allocated a doctor with that although you may be able to change after.
Don't know about La Romana but normally you need an appointment to see a doctor, ours asked to see us after we requested renewal of our prescriptions which initially we'd got through private cover which we took out whilst waiting for our residencies to go through.
We could have got temporary SIP cards but with the move and enough to do elsewhere we chose to go the private route.
Hi
I know this is an old post, but, did you manage to register at the doctors in la romana?
We are new to area and are wanting to transfer our health from torrevieja.
We do have full SIP
Do the staff at the centre speak any english?
Thanks

Just an update to an old post, but we hold sip card and had doctor in torrevieja.
After advice from Daniella the translator, we simply took our new padron to the Novelda health centre and they printed off a sticker to attach to our card, and also updated and changed our Doctor to the La Romana health centre.
It was a lot simpler than we thought it was going to be.
Just need to speak to the right people .
