Well Steve if you think that what you paid into the U.K. tax and Ni contribution has or will cover your weekly pension then work it out.If you think that your contributions paid for our armed forces, the police,NHS,schools and education, you and yours must have kept us all going.I came from a coun...

...try that is so poor I was only educated up until I was 9 because my parents couldn’t afford to keep me in school so we moved to the U.K. and by being educated and being able to get a good salary allowed me to move here,so never forget where you came from and by giving you a good life where you are today.

I don't know where you came from originally but glad you enjoyed the "free education and healthcare " that brits paid into all their working lives. Where do you think the UK government got it income from?? Yes, taxing the workforce and other taxes added to every single thing that you buy or want to use. Get you head around the idea that nothing is free. I paid a lot of money into a private pension because the UK government pension wouldn't give me a good lifestyle, ask anyone who wants to live here in Spain who cannot afford to move here!!!

I was going to say , much the same. Any "democratically" elected country, will (as their represented proletarians) via commerce, financial influence & consumers use their service via taxation. Not their  money, "ours". including  our  Freedom of movement & protection. In my view. V

I came from Thailand to the U.K. at the age of 10,went to a private school paid for by my parents also we had to pay for private healthcare for the first 5 years of my parents working and paying in to the tax system before we could gain British citizenship unlike you who got it from birth. So don’t keep whinging about your bad luck,or how much you paid for a good life, because other people are struggling to put food on their tables, use your wealth to visit the other side of the life that poor nations have and pray to God you were born in a wealthy country.

Of course I'm a British citizen, I was born there!!!

I've not whinged about bad luck as I've not had any bad luck......but it seems that you struck it lucky by living in the UK and being looked after (leaving your own citizens to cope in a less fortunate country)

I've made decisions throughout my life and decided to move to Spain years ago and spend my hard earned money here instead of the UK.

Whatever you think, nothing in this life is free and if that is your belief then you are deluded....

Are new British Citizens a bit like reformed smokers.......a bit holier than thou?Times have changed and Brits can only stay for 90 days and that’s very unlikely to change.Plenty of other tourists to fill the gap possibly left by a few Brits.

Not sure the holier than thou is anything new, I’ve always found that some Brits attitude to foreigners, even in there own countries,  is to talk loudly, so they will understand them. Unfortunately it stems from the belief that we still rule the wave’s and have more power and influence than we do.

Maybe you people that have deserted your own country to live a cheap life should think more about what your country has down over the years or even recently. If it hadn’t been for the U.K. millions more would and could have died all over Europe when no other nation had a clue of how to combat the Corona virus. It was the English tax payer that  sponsored the brining about of the anti vaccine not anyone else on this planet that has kept everyone alive.I don’t suppose any of you paid for your jabs.
