Hi just reading your posting ,we are in the UK home in Spain for 16 years, we were looking at going for residence at start 2021 know we have to go to the Spanish Consulate in UK , I applied  for the forms which they emailed back same day, the two forms in Spanish Ex, we need private health care from a Spanish provider in Spain ,information from police of no criminal record, proof we can provide for ourselves to a certain amount which as gone up quite considerably and a form for a Gestor in Spain, I do think your lawyer should not have taken any money until they did an appeal and should have made it  clear  you were in the  country and applied in November, but the private health is one thing thats not in place, maybe you applied for it ,but you needed it for when you first applied the lawyer as taken the money knowing you did not have it.so what was the point of him applying for you ,another point I spoke to a English speaking gestor and they directed me to the consul website and it states healthcare needed, good luck

Hi yeah got healthcare paid 12 months in advance but again dated Jan  2021 I've been in touch with English embassy asking if we could get power of attorney to get a non lucrative visa  , instead of us having to go back to the UK waiting to hear back off them

For the visa it as to be done in UK,  and I would think its the Spanish Consul you need to speak to because you have to go in person with your paper work thats what we would have had to do,  but you could try a local Gestor take your paperwork explain and they could advise you,  good luck

Hi Skeenan9,

Gloria68 is correct, you need to speak to the Spanish embassy in the UK, not the British embassy.

I don't know where you're based in the UK, but here are the contact details for the Spanish embassies in London and Edinburgh:

http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Consulados/LONDRES/en/Consulado/Pages/LocalizacionContacto.aspx

http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Consulados/EDIMBURGO/en/Consulado/Pages/LocalizacionContacto.aspx

Good luck!
Kind regards, Kim

Yes the same thing happened to us, our padron appointment was in Feb so we went off to our Gestor with everything we needed  but he told us it was too late.  We’re now back in UK trying to apply for non lucrative visa and this is very complicated I can tell you.  Thing is as far as I’m aware you must be in UK to make this application and it takes up to 3 months which will be difficult for you if you’ve no home here. Good luck, let’s hope you can sort. I didn’t dare stay beyond 31 March!

Thanks for reply , yeah I know it has to be done in UK, which makes it really difficult , but will have to be done I suppose , the paperwork for NLV is a minefield everything then has to be translated and stamped , jokers
