Transferring funds to Spain - Page 4

There are broadly three ways to transfer and exchange money for onward transmission:

1. Banks - expensive and less and less people use them

2. Currency exchange firms - there are dozens of them and you deal with a person though some do it online. You can take a "forward contract" and guarantee your exchange rate for some period ahead as well as booking a rate and tehn sending your money. That is known as "spot".

3. Online only - these seem to me to be the best. Many match buyers and sellers and cut out the banks completely. My favourite is Currency Fair whom I have used for years. Hi,Darrel, I’ve just been through the whole process myself and can highly recommend Currencies Direct. Setting up an account was easy and the rate they gave me was very good. I dealt with a lady called Myrah initially so if you’re not yet sorted contact me for her details. If you need to sort a bank account Paul at Banco Sabadell set my account up which is specially tailored to cater for house purchase  He explained every aspect of the account and also sorted a debit card and house insurance at a very good price.
