do I have to have the day 2 test as soon as I land in the uk or can I wait until I arrive at my destination?

You can buy a test cheaper through one of the airlines.(I got mine through easyJet for£43.) You need the test number for your UK passenger locator form.

I left Spain Via Alicante last Friday and had to provide My UK passenger locator. The day after landing in Bristol I did the test and popped it in the post.job done

Fyi, I was denied my flight on the Wednesday by a jobsworth who said that I needed My covid passport from the NHS. I got it sorted for My new flight on the Friday and when I handed it to the staff at the boarding gate she just shrugged her shoulders, like" hmm covid vaccination status, so what".

One last thing.my UK passenger locator was not checked on landing in Bristol !!!!

Can I buy an antigen test kit in spain to take with me to the uk and do the 2 day test when I arrive? They apparently have a unique code for the locator form?

Do they have a UK address you can post it to. You need to return the test for the results (although I have heard some people don't bother returning the test once they are back in the UK as there are only spot checks done)

Oh and you have to have a PCR test rather than an antigen test too at the moment

Use randox.

buy online with the the Ryanair coupon code

You have to have have a code for your locator form and the supplier must be recognised by the UK government

I have just been through the process returning on Saturday the 9th.

You must pre- book an appointment test, some Uk airports offer this or pre-purchase a 2 -day test in the Uk. You need the Booking Reference Number: In my case I bought the 2 day test from Randox £43  It looks like this which is emailed to you after purchase : RANDX3109456. You need this number for the UK locator form, which you fill in 48 hours before your arrival time. You will receive a Q-code to your email address or Smart phone..

I flew with Easy jet and at the boarding gate you need to show: Your passport, Your vaccination pass which shows the vaccine and dates of both vaccinations and the UK locator form. If you don't have them you cannot board the flight.

Your arrival day is 0, the test must be performed on or before day 2.

Hope that helps

My understanding of the day 2 test rules are that arrival day is day zero and you should do the test on day 2.

I do the required testing not because I’ll get caught if I don’t (as some are saying) but because I don’t want to pass on the Covid virus & I’m a responsible adult. I object to the cost of the tests but not being asked to do them.

On the Randox website its states on or before Day 2. If you think about it, if the airports are now offering tests they would be done on arrival, you wouldn't want to travel back to the airport unless it was nearby, not many people live near an airport.

The day you land is classed as day 0 so you need to take it on Day 2 after that

Within the 2 days after that
