Firstly do you want to follow a map ? or sat nav/phone ?

If its the latter then,

Try the link below, you can set it to avoid tolls and will give suggested stop overs.

https://www.viamichelin.co.uk

A quick search on here will give specific routes already posted where you can follow a map.

Quite a lot of variables.

Do you wish to pay tolls or do it toll free/limited toll?

Tons of interesting sites to see in France, too many to mention. Oradour-sur-Glane is well worth a visit, or if a nice driving trip then the Millau via-duct/bridge is a scenic route. France is full of interesting stops and lots to see/do and much depends on your timeframe and mode of transport. We travel down to Southern Spain yearly, sometimes from Cherbourg and by motorhome, sometimes via the Mediterranean route and other times via northern Spain, into Portugal and eventually the Costas….. that’s a different trip than by car for example.

Fully agree to the above, via-Michelin is excellent route planner as is a simple paper French road atlas giving you a nice idea of a planned route.

Whatever way you decide enjoy your trip and let us know how you get on.
