Agree, although they have moved the goal-post several times, for Covid cases, for Covid deaths and for number of tests. I think this is called manipulation.

Unfortunately the goal posts appear to be on wheels. Everything is non reversible until its reversed, then it was only a recommendation.
However unless you have facts and figures with proven points of reference, then not everyone will agree with you 🤷♂️😉.

Yes I have, who wants to see them ?
Two things at play here
1/ EU Commission - incompetently led by VDL. Very slow in procuring vaccines and invoking article 16 in the process.
2/ Spain and the Spanish and or other nationalities living here - very good at jabbing people with, anecdotally, low levels of vaccine refusal.
It's all good apart from 1 which meant you had to dodge the virus long enough before supplies eventually became available.
I only look at this source for my data https://ourworldindata.org/covid-cases
Though looking at twitter FineGael has been keen to use the same measure as described by the OP to demonstrate that the tortoise has finally overtaken the hare.

Agree with what you say. Slow start but quite successful once the problems sorted. Not getting into any debate about the reasons for the slow start.
Anecdotally (not based on fact or careful study) is a strange word for this, when surely the word could be used either way. Some people say there is no evidence the vaccine works and others say there is no evidence it doesn't. Everyone has their own opinion, hence all the conspiracy theories.

I used "anecdotally" as I have no idea on the level of vaccine scepticism in Spain but looking at the vaccination rates it looks as if most folks just want it in their arm unlike in France where we see far lower levels of vaccination.

But surely. Anecdotal may be the wrong word then, going off the meaning. The low take up in France as you mention and the 5.9 million cases. Spain higher take up of vaccines as you believe and 4.4 million cases. Surely you could read into this that the vaccine works?
However, although you say there is a lower take up of vaccines in France, the figures show different. France 68.9 million doses administered, Spain 54.1 Million. These figures are from the WHO dated 25th July.
Having thought about it, could you mean anecdotally on your part and not what I first read as anecdotally on the vaccine results? If this is the case, I understand now 🤦♂️.

Cases are far less important now. It's about hospitalisation/ deaths and variant analysis.
I've nothing to add to what I have written already.

OK France deaths 110,746. Spain deaths 81,442.
Cases obviously are a concern and must be important, because without cases there would be no hospitalisations and no deaths. Its the cases that need to be handled properly to reduce the other 2. Now I suppose there is nothing else to elaborate on

Fine Gael in Ireland have gotten a lot of pushback for using the same kind of unpleasant “us vs them” perspective beloved of the Tories in the U.K. As many people pointed out, we’re all in this together, and vaccination needs to be equitable worldwide.
