Ray, as I have pointed out previously, this would mean that N.I. would be under the jurisdiction of the EU parliament and the ECJ. This could potentially mean that there is a different set of laws and taxes etc. for N.I. until a trade agreement can be reached with the E.U. However under the present "backstop" E.U. offer there is no time limit on reaching an agreement. This could mean that the UK cedes control of N.I. to the E.U. The next problem this throws up is that the Scottish government, which wishes to remain, will demand the same deal. Spain could also demand that Gib. comes into the same category. Fantastic!!! In one fell swoop all of the pinch points in Britain's relationship with the E.U. are solved to the satisfaction of all but the U.K. I don't believe this option will fly no matter how much violence is perpetrated in N.I.

Ray, you have neglected addressing the fact that Scotland would never accept Northern Ireland being in a better position than them even if Nicola Sturgeon is distracted by the troubles of her former leader.
