Erm, yeah....thanks for the patronising response.

And, weirdly enough, I too can get British TV in our Spanish house.

But that wasn't my point.

And if you don't want to hear about the lack of progress in terms of negotiating a deal, there's clearly nothing I can say to convince you.

But, that said, I'm not here to do that; I'm just pointing out the potholes in the road.

Out of interest, did you vote in the referendum, John?

- the EU has said that without a solution for NI, we are at 0%, not 95%

- the 95% claim only refers to EU exit. There then remains the job of replacing >700 trade deals lost through the exit process

Correct.

We are nowhere near a deal and the NI border alone appears to be an insoluble problem, large enough to scupper any deal. (And that's without considering the Gibraltar issue further down the line.)

It amazes me that so many people in Spain appear completely oblivious as to what's really going on.

"silent majorities democratic decision" you say?

Just 37% of the eligible electorate voted for Brexit with many who did not vote citing that (correctly in my view) they did not feel they knew enough about the issue to make an informed choice.

Now a clearer picture of the plusses and minuses is emerging (l say clearer not clear! ) a people's vote on what's on the table is the only truly democratic solution.

The people voted and leave was the outcome.

What shall we do keep voting until you get a stay vote.

Agreed, people had the opportunity to vote, if they didn't then that was their choice, time people accepted the democratic decision.

I will answer "Out of interest, did you vote in the referendum, John?" , yes I did vote, what way I voted is my business and BTW I also worked in a Polling Station on the day ensuring democracy was upheld.

Are you two not even slightly concerned that all the indications are that there won't be a deal and you may well have to leave Spain and return to the UK?

Neither the U.K. or Europe ( particularly Spain ) can afford a no deal outcome.
