Hi,

Are you ex military, or have another UK Government pension (not State OAP) and own property in the UK?

Kind regards,

Kim

That was partly what I wanted to sample on this thread.

There have been 23 respondents and very few 2 have expressed concern over a move to Spain. None currently in Spain have expressed any concerns.

Unless the voting above changes in a different direction it looks as if people are just going to be pragmatic and take events in their stride.

The exchange rate is a huge lever in helping to make up people's minds. If it continues to move in Britons favour I can see concerns mitigated.

The markets hate uncertainty if we can get a degree of certainty back, whatever that might be, they are likely to respond positively. Especially as the risk of a hard exit seems to be far less likely.

As of this post, you have received 28 responses.

I don't know how many people look at this forum, but 28 seems very low.

Apathy perhaps ?  A statistically significant sample ?

Who knows, this is just another thread, people can add to it or ignore it, either way it helps inform on how people are feeling about the short term.

It is what it is.

Hi

I own properties in the UK and my Spanish villa.

I'm not at pensionable age yet.....another 18 years if I'm lucky enough to reach it.

Kind regards

Hi Glen,

Ah, the key to our situation is that my husband has an RAF pension which, along with certain other UK Government pensions, HAS to be taxed in the UK, rather than Spain, so different to your circumstances.

Kind regards,

Kim

Ok......thanks for coming back to me.

I was curious......I'm looking to get out permanent from around June next year so I'm waiting to see how it all pans out after the dust has settled a bit. If all else fails it may have to be 50/50. Then I've got the taxation issues.....more reading!

Hi robjan1,

Yes, if the UK leaves with agreement, we have a transition period, following which we become Third Country Nationals and all that entails - most notably, the requirement to prove a much higher level of income, should a UK citizen wish to move to Spain.  But if we leave without agreement, we become Third Country Nationals immediately, with no transition period.  Either way, our status changes and we become second class citizens in Europe.

Kind regards,

Kim

Yougov is owned by a Tory MP and ex chair of the Tory party. It is about as unreliable  as anything you could possibly imagine and is little more than a propaganda tool
