I have been told that I need to show I have spent 180 consecutive days in Spain between now and the 31st Dec as part of my application is this true.

This is a problem for us too, we will need residency in the future (years not months)

And wondered if there was some sort of way of working round it!

Thank you ray

Thanks again Jim.

I'm trying to get out as soon as possible as I want to apply for my residency before this year is out. I feel like I'm rushing but its got to be done. I'm going to use somebody to get this sorted and do the legwork while I'm toing and froing.

I seem to remember some recommendations on here for someone who does it so I will have another search.

The time is right!

This is what my Spanish lawyer wrote to me this evening

2- If you only have a police number of NIE, no green document (like the one I showed you this morning), in that case the procedure is the following:

a) You must be registered in the Padrón Municipal (in the Town Hall) of Pinoso for 3 months before asking an appointment in the Foreign Office Affairs.

She can ask now for an appointment, because you are going to come soon and I finished all paperwork (but the NIE number...and your fingerprint) in Pinoso.

b) During these 3 months you have to prove living here by paying with your credit card.

c) Keep 9,000 euros in your Spanish account

d) Contract a health insurance

e) During this time she will manage the appointment in order to earn time...and when she has the meeting she will show all the requested proof.

f) After this meeting (some time later) she will receive the approval of not...for your residence, so in case it is accepted she will

g) ask for a police appointment in order you to print your finger in a police card...

If the part about being on the Pardon for 3 months before applying for residency and the time it takes to get an appointment is true, then it is probably to late for someone like myself who cant come out until September to start the process. We would then need to comply with whatever the new requirements are going to be from Jan 1st 2021.

Same for us.

Also we are relying on lump sums from our NHS pensions next year, so if they are to be taxed, we may have to delay (or even forget) our dreams of residency.

Feeling rather despondent to be honest.

This might help with the NHS pension question.

Hi.......thanks for your reply.

In your opinion do you think that the €9000 needs to be in a Spanish bank or do you think it could be something like Transferwise or UK account?
